Kuwait's Al Qadsia beats defending champions Urawa Reds in opening leg of their AFC Asian Champions League quarterfinals in Kuwait.

Al Qadsia took the lead when Fahed Al Ebrahim headed into the net in the 17th minute on Wednesday.
The Japanese side was back on level terms as Brazilian striker Edmilson scored the equalizer in the 32nd at Mohammed al-Hamad Stadium in Kuwati CIty.
The Kuwaitis retook the lead after Selim Benachour netted a free-kick in the 55th minute, and nine minutes later Khalaf Al-Mutairi extended the Kuwaiti advantage from the penalty spot.
Edmilson's stoppage time goal gave the Japanese team hope for the second leg, which is scheduled to be held in Japan next Wednesday.
Urawa coach Gert Engels believes his club can reach the semifinals despite the loss.
“We need to win only 1-0 in the match at home,” he said. “I'm confident the team can do it.”
